I believe dogs, young and less young can learn new tricks. The real question is – how bad does said dog want to learn new tricks? Will these new tricks lead to better outcomes? The next question is, well then, HOW can we?...
Take pause, discard, re-evaluate, integrate, move forward - not necessarily bigger (maybe?), but better, more agile, bringing more to your bottom line (time, money, peace/sanity, space). And isn’t that the point – to get better at this game called life? It’s absolutely a driving force behind why I answered the entrepreneurial call – to earn (and eventually, enjoy) my freedom!
Getting better is what I have always been about. What began out of necessity and no safety net, has led along a journey where my latest fork in the road is one where I too, can take pause and more importantly – should. With almost three decades of professional experience, lessons and (still) unbridled passion and fire under my belt, I am now in the unique position of enjoying AND giving back more, transmuting, extrapolating, maximizing the impact/ROI of the experience and help I’ve received along the way. Now that’s freedom!
How, you ask? Education is the ticket. It can take whatever form that looks like for you. You CAN start without knowing how it’s going to go AND figure it out, as you go! You will get better. And one day, like me, you’ll carve out the time to reflect and (finally) give yourself that well deserved pat on the back. Even through the messy bits, and the occasional few steps back, in the long run, progress is inevitable, so long as you continuing failing forward. And with progress, comes space to do better, more meaningfully impactful things, to give back in service, and of course – to enjoy more, along the way a more fulfilling life.
